We are a collective of former film students from FAMU. After graduating we didn’t find the rich, creative film atmosphere we desired in the professional sphere and so are fashioning it together ourselves.
The name of the company is inspired by one of the earliest films of the French New Wave, Paris Belongs To Us, which begins with the quote “Paris belongs to no one.” Like the cinematic movement that broke stultified tropes, CBTU hopes to usher in a cinema for the millennial age.
We intend to realize our projects in the interstices between the local and the global. Our projects, while being honest and intimate, are nonetheless intended to connect with our audience. Ranging from web series to spots and all the way to feature films we hope our joy, enthusiasm and adoration of cinema will reflect in our work.
